Thomas Edison Craft Day

When: October 15th, 11am- 1pm Fee: $9R/$12NR Registration: Through Morton Grove Park District We have Thomas Edison to thank for so many of the things we use and enjoy daily, but how often do we really think about where they came from? Join us at the Morton Grove Historical Museum Education Center to learn about the origins of some of Thomas Edison’s most well-known inventions, how early Morton Grovers benefited from them, and then make your own! Available crafts will include a telegraph machine, an electrical circuit conductor, and the antecedents to Edison’s motion pictures: the thaumatrope and the zoetrope. |
River Walk
Where: Starting at the Historical Museum Education Center
When: October 29th, 11am-1pm Fee: $10 for individuals, $25 for families (up to 4 people) Registration: Through the Park District or Call the Museum Join us as Mark Hauser, Education Manager from Friends of the Chicago River, takes us through the Linne Woods and discusses both the history and habitat of the Chicago River. We will learn about how Morton Grove’s residents have interacted with the river over time, its importance throughout the grater Chicagoland area, and maybe even have a chance to glimpse at some local wildlife! |
