Hi All! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their family and friends. Morton Grove and the surrounding area will have the first snow fall up to one foot with blizzard conditions as of this blog post. Be careful when shoveling! The snow may be heavy. Our new exhibit The Illinois Bicentennial is in full swing! We have a Columbian Exhibition dress on display that was worn by Mrs. Guy French in 1893. There are pictures and artifacts from Morton Grove, the 1933 World's Fair and Illinois history also in our exhibit. BIG THANK YOU goes to our Vice President and Treasurer Donna Hedrick and Museum Assistant Darby Chamress for putting the exhibit together! As we enter the holiday season, the Morton Grove Historical Society and Museum will be open on Saturday, December 1st from 2 to 5 PM for Holly Daze. Come on by to visit the Farmhouse museum! We will also be open Sunday, December 9th and the 16th from 12 to 2 PM. The Education Annex is open Tuesday thru Saturday as follows: Tues, Wed, Thurs & Sat. from 10 am to 1 pm & Fri. from 12 noon to 4 pm. Want to join as a member, volunteer or be an officer? Ask our docents, call the museum or visit our website: https://mortongrovehistory.weebly.com/become-a-member.html Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from the Morton Grove Historical Society Board of Directors!
